Information on the booking process
Payment
You can pay your holiday in cash, with an EC or Maestro card, or upfront by bank transfer. Payment by credit card is not accepted.
Duration of your stay
In our residences, the following minimum duration of stay applies:
Early and late season: 3 nights
High season: 5 nights
Christmas and New Year: 7 nights
Preferred dates and cancellation
You may cancel your holiday free of charge until 30 days (45 days at Christmas and New Year) before your scheduled date of arrival.
If you have to cancel at a later date, or in case of late arrival or early departure, we will try our best to rent your residence to somebody else. If we do not manage to find a new tenant, we have to charge you 80 per cent of the price of your arrangement. We only accept written cancellations, which receipt has been confirmed by us.
Therefore, we recommend you to take out a travel cancellation insurance protecting you from financial consequences of a cancellation. Upon request, we are happy to send you the relevant documentation.
Arrival service
On the day of your arrival
You may check in at our residences from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm. On the day of your departure, your residence is at your disposal until 10:30 am.
Convenient and comfortable
Come to the Black Forest by train - Protect the environment and save money at the same time. From Hinterzarten, you can get to Freiburg by train every 30 minutes. The “Deutsche Bahn” (German railway company) allows you to buy the cheap Schwarzwald-Ticket (Black Forest ticket) with which you can take all trains. Hermes takes care of your luggage, and delivers it to Hinterzarten safely and on-time, and sends it back to your home at the end of your stay. During your stay, you can take all busses, regional trains (2nd class), and trams in the Black Forest for free. You can book our “Sorglos und bequem” (Convenient and comfortable) package no matter how long you will stay with us. After the binding booking of your holiday residence, you can buy your “Schwarzwald-Ticket” (Black Forest ticket) with our confirmation at every train station or travel agency of the Deutsche Bahn at a particularly favourable price.
Your temporary home
Ferien Residenz Bergfried
Our holiday residences offer you comfort at a 3-star-superior level. While choosing the furniture, we have put particular importance on your comfort. In our residence, you should feel at home. While choosing the beds, we have paid much attention to your sleeping comfort.
The living rooms and bedrooms are equipped with a TV set, a DVD/CD player, a radio, and wireless LAN. Furthermore, each residence disposes of a safe and a phone. And just in case, you may also find an umbrella in your residence.
The bathrooms are all equipped with a spacious shower, a hairdryer, and a heated towel rack. Your residence is also equipped with towels and bath towels. Furthermore, you can rent bathrobes and bathing shoes for a small fee.
The kitchenettes are all equipped with an electric stove with 2 plates, a microwave, a fridge, a dishwasher, a coffee machine, a kettle, a toaster, an egg boiler, and, of course, a sufficient amount of cutlery and glasses.

The small wellness area is open for you from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm every day. It offers you a Finnish sauna with garden view, a herbal saunarium with coloured light, an infrared cabin, a shower world, a lounge with a tea bar, a relaxation room, a fresh air area, and a swimming pool in the garden.
1-2-3 Magic Service
For you to have a good start into the day, our arrangements include a breakfast buffet, which is available to you in our breakfast room from 8:00 am to 10:30 am.
In the afternoon, between 2:00 pm and 5:00 pm, we offer tea, coffee and cake. Please help yourself, and you can even savour our treats on your balcony or in the garden.
If you book your stay without breakfast, we gladly provide you your favourite bread roll for a quiet breakfast in your room.
Once a week, the room service cleans your residence and offers fresh bed linen and hand towels. On request and for a fee, you can even ask for the room service to come more often.
Our service during your stay
Take advantage of your holiday to improve your fitness
During your stay, you may also claim benefits from our physiotherapeutic department which is recognized by the German statutory health insurance, and you may use the first-class exercise machines in our “Medical Fitness-Studio” (medical gym). We focus on physiotherapeutic and preventive medical treatments of diseases and injuries of the musculoskeletal system.
Have a sporty and active holiday
Of course, the residences of the Ferien Residenz Bergried seduce you to relax, have an extensive breakfast, and to enjoy your holiday. Of course, this may already make you happy, but it is only one half of the joy of your holiday. The other half consists of wonderful trails, captivating sceneries, the wonderful hikes, and the exceptionally refreshing healthy climate around Hinterzarten. You may not have thought about this before your holiday, and therefore you may not have brought any equipment with you. But this is not a valid excuse, as you can rent every missing piece from us.
